My children, the two pictured above, are my biggest source of inspiration for what I do. Ever since my oldest son was just 3 years old, I have been faced with the task of bringing up these awe-inspiring individuals all by myself. I sacrificed what little free time I had and dedicated it all to them.

I wouldn’t really call it a sacrifice, because that implies giving something up that you wouldn’t have done had the situation not forced you to do so. I wanted to see my children grow to surpass me in every way possible: academically, athletically, and emotionally. Every sports game, piano recital, and elementary school publishing party, no matter how small, I would be there, often one of the only parents at a high school basketball game, but shouting words of encouragement nonetheless.
Because that’s what we do for our kids. We seemingly go above and beyond, but not really; it’s simply what we do for the children we love.
